I regard teaching as one of the most important dimensions of academic life, with the power to shape intellectual development, professional ambition, and long term opportunity. My teaching is guided by a commitment to academic excellence, critical enquiry, and the cultivation of confident, capable learners who can engage thoughtfully with complex economic and social questions.
I aim to foster an inclusive and intellectually ambitious learning environment in which students are encouraged not only to acquire knowledge, but also to interrogate ideas, think independently, and apply their understanding with confidence. Through a combination of clear instruction, interactive discussion, collaborative learning, and technology enhanced teaching, I seek to create a learning experience that is both rigorous and accessible, while supporting a diverse range of students and learning needs.
Beyond disciplinary knowledge, I place strong emphasis on the development of transferable skills, including analytical reasoning, communication, problem solving, and intellectual confidence. I view teaching as an evolving scholarly practice and continually reflect on and strengthen my approach in order to deliver high quality education that equips students for academic achievement, professional success, and meaningful engagement beyond the classroom.
I have taught and convened a broad range of modules across well regarded institutions in the United Kingdom and Pakistan, building a teaching portfolio that reflects substantial experience in economics, mathematics, and quantitative methods. This breadth of experience has enabled me to work with students across diverse contexts while maintaining a consistent focus on academic rigour, active engagement, and the development of critical and analytical thinking.
